King Khafre



King Khafre is one of the youngest children of the Pharaoh Cheops, who lived and became famous during the 26th century BC.

He is also the fourth king of the fourth dynasty that ruled Egypt between 2575 and 2465 BC.

He's behind his half-brother Djedef Ra acted in the verdict and demonstrated the importance of the worship of the sun god Ra, and his self-nickname Ibn Ra.

He ruled Egypt between 2558-2532 BC, which built the second pyramid of Giza, and he married four wives, including: Khamerernebti, Merz Ankh III,

Although most of the king's relatives were buried in fairly cheap graves (for example, his brother Djedef built his grave in the Abu Rawash area),

King Khafre did not want to be buried in an unmarked cemetery, moving to Giza, and building a cemetery next to the tomb of his father, Herm ;

Pyramid of Khafre.

One of the three pyramids of Giza, and it was mentioned in historical sources that one of his wives, Maras Ankh III, was buried in a great cemetery near his grave.

Scenes appear on the walls of her grave in her short hair and her clothes that were worn from the cheetah skin.

Also, her mother, Queen Hatab Haras II (English: At her side is the power of these two women, and their prominent role during the reign of King Khafre.

Pyramid of Khafre, similar to the pyramid of Khufu, but much smaller than it is by a margin that is almost unnoticed by the naked eye. It is 142.7 m high,

And the length of its side is 214.5 m. It's 53 degrees,

Even though it's smaller, it's lower than the Khufu pyramid, it's higher (remotely); Built at a height higher than its height,

It can be accessed through its entrance located at 11 m above ground level. From the entrance, a long room can be reached at the end of which a granite coffin is believed to be buried;

The upper part of the pyramid is covered by a limestone layer; and the lower part of the pyramid is covered by a granite layer.

The temple of Wadi Khafre.

It is a temple built from granite stones alongside the pyramid, where a bridge links it with the pyramid.

Within it are several statues of King Khafre and the god Horus, known as the Falcon God;

Next to the temple is the Sphinx, which many believe bears the same characteristics as a Khafre king.

It is worth noting that the temple of the valley, which belongs to the pyramid of Khafre, is the only temple of the ancient state that is still standing, and to this day,

Archaeologists have discovered two roads in front of the temple entrance connected to the berm the old canal, located directly in front of the old building,

Also found basins believed to belong to the purification tent located in front of the Valley Temple, where the king's body was placed; To cleanse it with the waters of the canal.

Statue of King Khafre.

This statue was made from the stones of the diurite; When I was known for his permanent life;

The statue is described, taking a side section of it, as having a royal headscarf, as well as an artificial beard, a royal appearance of most pharaohs, even females;

The same beard is found in the statue of Queen Hatshepsut.

The king sits in a branch like the statue of the throne of Egypt, surrounded by strong lions, and other symbols of Egypt, such as papyrus leaves.

As for the falcon god Horus, he sits on the throne behind the king's neck. This portrays the extent to which the king has a branch attached to this god.
